I'm Graduated!

Oh, wait. I just signed up for four more years...  hehe I'm excited for it, though. I'm going to be going to college with my sister this fall.
If you'd like to hear all about my graduation, my mom did a full post here. Since she already wrote one I'll just send ya'll to her instead of rewriting everything she said. ;)

A Story in Pictures and Gifs

This week I've been gardening and I have been having so much fun! I've been pretty much like this:

While I've been gardening I've also seen a bunch of squirrels. One in particular looked all cute and fluffy and he let me feed him a grape.

When I told my brother about it, he asked me if I wanted him to shoot the squirrel. I told him "no" since that cute little squirrel wasn't hurting anybody.

During this time my pineapple plant that I've had a few years actually flowered! I was so excited!

Here's a close up of what it looks like, though this specific picture isn't mine.

I've waited years for it to do something and then it just decided to flower! So today I went to church and then saw the new Cinderella movie with some friends afterwards.

Meanwhile at home.....

And I came back to this.

HE ATE THE FLOWER AND SHREDDED THE REST!

My beautiful plant was destroyed!!!

And so I've been in the pit of despair.... But the movie was really good :)
*sigh* But I'll be okay... I'll just go wait another five years for another pineapple plant to bloom...

And the next squirrel I see?

Just kidding, I wouldn't want to shoot the wrong squirrel.

A Bit of Writing

War and Peace (2007)
Lately I've been doing a little writing. I've been working on a play based on"The Princess on the Pea" which (I hope) is a comedy. I'm also writing a Christian retelling of King Thrusbeard/Grislybeard. Hayden wants to write half of that one, but she's been really busy lately editing Hidden Pearls and learning lines for the play she's going to be a part of. So for now, I'm the only one working on it. I don't usually write a whole lot (as far as stories go). That's been more of Hayden's thing. But since I started, I've been really surprised at how fun it can be. It may even become a regular activity of mine. ;)

"Just smell the grass, the dirt..."

Yay! It's finally spring! It happened so suddenly it seemed like everything turned green just over night.

My family has been moving around, staying with friends and family, while looking for a new house. For now, we're staying at a cabin on some property a couple at church is letting us use, and the property is gorgeous.

There's so many wild flowers that the breezes carry a floral scent.

The wisteria is everywhere, and the vines are so thick and tightly wound around the trees that you can use them like rope to climb the trees. My brothers and I have been having a lot of fun with that. :)

We even found one vine that was looped into a natural swing.

At night there are thousands of lightning bugs. Which, of course, has us all singing "Fireflies"  by Owl City every night before bed. ;)

He covers the sky with clouds; He supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills
